Independent Sexual Violence Adviser (ISVA) services

We will offer you support from an Independent Sexual Violence Adviser, someone trained to offer you ongoing practical help and support.

If you are thinking of reporting to the police, your ISVA will tell you about the process so you can make a decision. If you do report, your ISVA will support you through the whole process and link with all various agencies on your behalf to make sure you have all the relevant information about your case and ensure that your voice and opinion is heard throughout the investigation. If your case goes to court, your ISVA will be there to support you throughout the trial.

They will help by:

  • Working in partnership with a range of local public and voluntary services
  • Provide support throughout the investigation and prosecution process
  • Arrange pre-trial court visits and post-trial support as necessary
  • Provide advice and support across a wide range of issues, such as housing, health and education

ARCH North East delivers the ISVA service across Teesside. The service is for anyone, no matter their age and completely independent of all other agencies. Their only interest is in supporting clients and their families.
